My friend made hers herself. Shes pretty much amazing. She's the one in red.

I made my prom dress last year ^.^
It only seems to be english girls who wear ball gowns theses days to prom, there were only two girls at mine with short dresses lol

If your extremely comfortable and confident with doing so, go ahead. But its your prom, and so far thats the most important thing in your life lol So i would recommend showing the picture, and getting a seamstress to make it for you. Thats what I did: link link

I used an 80s wedding dress pattern xD, was the third thing i ever made, I wouldn't of known where to start otherwise, I dont use patterns anymore though ^.^

That's gorgeous. The colors are beautiful. I always thought American Prom was too informal, girls here seem to think that 'less is more'. I love long, sweeping ball gowns.

Why do all the girls have short dresses? My grad this year there were only like 4 or 5 girls that didnt have floor length dresses.

I can't sew and my mum doesn't want to do it for me, so I'm thinking about designing my prom dress for this year and then getting a dressmaker to sew it. Prom dresses are not such a big deal in my country, though (we don't wear ball gowns or anything).
