What title comes to your mind? I´m planning on buying som fashion/design books, but I would like to have some suggestions before I begin my searching.

Do you have any experience of books in this category & might have some tip? Then please help me out dudes!

the sartorialist (the book) is good, if you're looking more into street fashion photography. dont get the nylon street fashion book, the pictures are shite, blurry and you're better off trawling blogs for the same looks.

if you're talking about books about fashion designers, the fashion now book series is a good place to start. it's an encyclopaedia of designers and labels, it has almost everything from street brands, avant garde designers and even emerging designers. there are already two of those books that have been released, i think.

I think of those awful mini booklets of what's in this season you usually get with shit magazines like company or cosmo. they're always called fashion bibles.

GapPress magazine is pretty good for tracking the latest runway shows, excellent resolution for the photos, sadly they don't include the entire collection, just the hits I guess.

In terms of books, try reading "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Lustre" by Dana Thomas, it's one of my favourites. For illustration I recommend "Contemporary Fashion Illustration Techniques" by Naoki Watanabe - she does an impressive job breaking down the details in illustration.

I don't really think that anything that I have read or looked at is a "Fashion Bible".

I take inspiration from pretty much anything - and sometimes in Vogue, which most people would probably say is the Fashion Bible, I think that their outfits aren't very well put together, or even nice to look at.

But then I guess that it's your own personal taste. If you want one single "Fashion Bible", I would get a few books on fashion and magazines and have a flick through them and then decide which one you would take inspiration from the most.

Then I say that it's extremely dangerous and stupid to consider fashion some kind of religion. That's what I hate about the fashion industry lead by magazines as Vogue and big companies like LVMH - it's a huge bunch of ugly consumerism.

Vouge's Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter Designer Collection Mags. They come out twice a year, are about 500 pages, and feature no stories just looks off the runway. I used to refer to it when I was a fashion buyer.

I recently picked up a book called "101 Things I Learned in Fashion School" by Alfredo Cabrera. It is a useful tool :)

To be honnest with you fashion moves so quick that by the time a book is published its yesterdays news so to speak. I find the best books for inspo are photo books or more arty books showing several things i can related to later. These keep better and dont date as much imo. I have photo books from all my favourite designers a stupid ammount of books on fashion. I think street style books date so quickerly Id go for more classic deisgns books.

If its a written book your looking for I would go for more style basics books. As in what styles, cuts etc suit what body shape etc. As good styling etc. is the basis to any good look isnt it :)

sorry couldnt be more help just ive wasted so much money on crap over years dont want others doing the same.

I like the Vogue covers book, the Olsen twins book, the little dictionary of fashion by Christian Dior, and I love fashion illustration books too.

And magazines of course! My favourites are Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Russh.

Lula Magazine. 100x better than Vogue I think.
You have a dose of fashion, makeup, dance, music, photography, film, styling etc. It is my fashion bible, everything is perfect.
