I was just truly impressed with the character of Natalia. Best physiological movie for year 2012.

I really loved it, it just keeps on haunting in my head! I actually thought there was a second message in the movie. (mother-daughter sexual abuse) did anybody notice that second message too?

It's very psychological and somehow I got attracted to the melodramatic imagination of the character that Natalie Portman was portraying. I think all in all it was like MY best movie of the decade since Mirror Mask (which is somehow the reason for my mind's distortion).

I thought it was really disturbing and didn't like it. The plot was predictable too, which a thriller should not be, and it was WAY scarier than I thought it would be, which also turned me off.

I loved that movie! It's very intense watching it and it really gets under your skin, but that made that it was a strong story.

Lame. Watch Perfect Blue instead. It actually inspired Black Swan; bought the rights, but changed a lot of things about it but you can still find some similarities. It's super trippy.

i thought the acting was good but the message that it gave that girls have to be provocative & sleep with their teachers in order to get roles is a bit played out. natalie portman is wonderful anyway but i don't think her acting in the movie was any better than her acting in Where The Heart Is, one of my fav movies. the fact that she had to play a demeaning role to win an oscar just shows that hollywood would rather influence watchers to be bad than good.

Wow, now that I think of it, it does share some similarities with Perfect Blue.
I enjoyed both movies, though.

I loved it but I have to say that I didn't like the way the whole thing was portrayed, many people saw it as if Nina had psicologycal issues but I think they ment it as if it was the inside battle between the white and black swan , the good and the bad, the darkness and light, how nina was the white swan and her "aparitions" of herself leading her to scratch was the black swan trying to corrupt her, and si it finally ends its battle when in the end she kills herself, or attempts to at least.

I think the director is over-rated. He is stylish but there's not much substance. I didn't like Requiem for a Dream either.

I am going to go watch it again in two minutes.

I thought it was fantastic. The first time I was a little confused but then the second time I adored it. I wasn't sure if it's because I'm a dancer or because I'm a film major, But I absolutely loved it.

I thought it was really good.
I especially loved the portrayal of dermatillomania. As a sufferer, I found it was a really accurate portrayal. I was really quite excited as I thought the condition would get more awareness but unfortunately most people who picked up on that aspect misinterpreted it as self-harm. So it worries me that perhaps more people are going to get the two confused.

I like how Nina's (Portman) thoughts were presented in the movie. Her thoughts weren't just hers alone but shared with us, the viewers. All the dark scenes (stabbing, bleeding, self-harm, her turning into a swan, suicide) were consistent with the pressure Nina put herself under in order to bring the Black Swan to life (in her performance). It's like she wasn't going to bring herself to do it in real life, but just the thought alone was able to transform her character (being darker and closer to the character of the black swan).
Leroy (Cassel) said she had to give more than just technicality, he wanted everything out of her, he wanted her to live as the character. She needed to dismiss that barrier of her just "playing the part" or "acting". She didn't just dance the Black Swan, she became it (or rather, her thoughts). I didn't get it at first and was trying to figure out if some of the parts were just in Nina's head or that they really happened. But then thinking back to what Leroy said to her at one point, it all made sense.
