Movies and films about lifestyles and fashion are fun to watch...they provide endless visuals and ideas for a lot of us fashionistas..so which film best captured the ever electic, fun, colorful & crazy world of fashion?

I totally agree with anything by Tim Burton. Colleen Atwood is a genius!
I also love mid-century period films: Catch Me If You Can, The Notebook, Nowhere Boy, Revolutionary Road etc for fashion.
But NOT Grease. That film has the worst interpretation of 1950s fashion I have ever seen! Eeurgh, I can't stand it!

Coco avant Chanel, definitely.
That movie is so great. (I know how weird I am, but in that movie there was a shot in which nothing happened, you just saw nature, and it took about a minute. It made me cry. So beautiful)
The clothes are so simple and elegant. (It's not really what I would wear, though I have some chanel elements in my closet)

Winter's Bone. The people in the movie are not trying to be stylish, and that is why their styles inspire me.

I think any Jean-Luc Godard film, esp from the 60s, is absolutely perfect. He's a horrible misogynist but the clothes of his female actresses play a huge role in the films, I think. I'm especially thinking of Brigitte Bardot's clothes (and, um, lack thereof) in Contempt and Jean Seberg's in Breathless. And of course Anna Karina, in absolutely any movie she is in, ever (but especially A Woman is a Woman).

It's not "current" fashion, but it's like one big, fantastic, colorful, frilly, decadent, bonbon, visual orgasm! :3

Made in Dagenham was great for me- A more realistic portrayal of 1960s fashion.
I actually wrote a blog post on this, if you're interested: beckybedbug.blogspot.com/2011/12/made-in-dagenham.html

Marie Antoinette and Almost Famous.
Didn't like the actual movie of Marie Antoinette, but all the outfits and settings were as delicious as all the cakes Marie ate.
Penny Lane's outfits in Almost Famous are absolutely perfect, and the whole style of the film was magic.
Also love the outfits and scenery in Moulin Rouge! and Chicago

I think A Single Man is so perfect. Even though it doesn't address fashion directly, it is just so obvious that a designer directed and created this film. Everything, the very cinematic quality of the film is beautiful and elegant and flawless. I saw it in theatres and could barely pay attention to the story, the film itself was just so lush.

I used to LOVE the Paradise Kiss manga and anime! I wanted to be just like Yukari & Miwako...
I am a sucker for a good romcom, so I adore The Devil Wears Prada and Confessions of a Shopaholic.
I tried watched Sex & The City once but it was too much to bare!
I really must watch Marie Antoinette though! The costumes look utterly stunning - the elegance, grace and delicious pastel shades.
Coco Before Chanel is also on my list of must watch films.
Aside from the obvious fashion oriented films, I love the 50s/60s classics for exceptional fashion. Just about anything with Audrey Hepburn is a winner! Particularly Breakfast At Tiffany's and Sabrina, two favourites of mine.
