I worked in an electronics store for over 2 years, and we had various cameras come and go.
In my experience, Fujifilm bridge cameras like that are good - but there are far better ones on the market. I used a similar one for a little while and the quality wasn't as good as I hoped it would be once I uploaded the images onto my computer.
That price also seems to be a bit expensive for the camera. In the UK it retails at around £149.99 which is $237. So shop around and see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere!
Sony have been releasing some fantastic compact system cameras. Their NEX series of compacts with interchangeable lenses are incredible, but probably a bit over budget!
Within your price range I'd suggest you look at the Canon Powershot range. They're HD compacts and the picture quality is really impressive!
Do a search for some 'compact system' cameras. These are compact digitals but with more features, better quality pictures and lenses you can change.
Good luck!
