"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." - Oscar Wilde
it kind of captures the essence of human nature.

"Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out of it alive."
I like this quote because it's usually attributed to Elbert Hubbard (or Van Wilder). Hubbard was a late 19th, early 20th century writer/philospher. Actually, the first apparition of this quote is from Bernard de Fontenelle, some 200 years earlier, as "Don't take life too seriously... anyway, you will not end up alive". He said other nice quotes such as "It is a great obstacle to happiness to expect too much.", which kinda made it's way into Dodgeball ("I've found that if you have a goal, you might not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you're never disappointed. And I gotta tell ya...it feels phenomenal".)

this one is a bit long, but it's so beautiful :
"I'm not frightened.
I'm not frightened of anything.
The more I suffer, the more I love.
Danger will only increase my love. It will sharpen it, forgive its vice.
I will be the only angel you need. You will leave life even more beautiful than you entered it.
Heaven will take you back and look at you and say: Only one thing can make a soul complete and that thing is love."
(Michael in The Reader - 2008.)
