So I have heaps of old jeans that I turn into cut-off shorts...which means that I have tonnes of denim legs that I don't want to throw away, but don't know what to do with! What have you done with them?

I love the bowtie! I generally just save them for when my boyfriends pants need a patch so I always have the right color for it. I also like painting on patches of them, denim is an awesome canvas

i would try to make some amazing over elbow gloves, it would need to be made skinnier, but should look interesting with white shirt and leggings.

Maybe you can turn the stretch denim ones into flapper headbands? You know, add flowers, ribbons, lace, or other types of embellishments.

Now help me?

if you strip it and braid it you could make a cool belt or if you make it really thin you could make some bracelets or a headband

That's cool. You can also make it self-tie if you want, I don't know if that one on the picture is.

I recently cut up some jeans to make shorts and plaited strips of the leftover denim to make a headband / bracelet. It turned out quite nicely :)

I've seen these sweet flower finger rings made of denim where you cut the denim into the shape of a flower and layer smaller flower cutouts on top to make em' ruffley. at least i think that's how they did it...

They're very useful to make bags of. Simply cut them to a lenght you want your bag to be and then sew the lower part turned inside out (like this the seam looks neat even if you can't sew properly at all). Cut a long stripe out of the other leg and use it as handle :)

This threat makes me wish I'd kept the legs from my pair of shorts... hahaha. Though they were kind of poorly cut, I totally could have made something out of them.

That's a great idea. The problem with repurposed denim is that it always looks like repurposed denim.

you could make a bag (like the canvas ones - just a rectangle with 2 straps). Just sew the two legs together. and take off a little in the middle for the straps, I suppose it depends on the size of the leg.

If they're long enough, and you have the sewing skills attach them to a leather gilet/sleeveless jacket, it'd look really good :)

I use them in my hair sometimes. I've thought about using them as detailing on a corduroy skirt I'm working on.

Clutches are always a good idea, and I've seen pictures where people distressed the denim a bit to make it softer and turned their old jeans into a picnic blanket, looks super cute in person!
