What was the first thing you made?

I got a sewing machine (early christmas present) and i know how to use it but i just don't know what to make first... or attempt to make anyway haha. What was your first diy project? Did it turn out well? Pictures and links to blog posts are welcome! :) xxx

I had a military jacket I used to love, but It was a little long, so I cut the bottom of it to about hip-height, then sewed the bottom lining, hand stitched... and considering It was my first project, it turned out like something Dr frankenstein worked on, But I was still proud of it... :)

hey amy. i feel with you!!! my first thing was a top. i only lay it on a fabric (jersey) and cut it out, sew together, ready. iron the neckline before you sew:) and that's it. and you can use it immediately !! this is one of my first tries:
