Doc Martens?

I am looking to invest in a good pair of boots that I can actually wear in the winter. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Doc Martens.. do you know if they make winter boots? I'm talking about Canadian winters... snow and all. Even if they are not really thick but waterproof, I can handle that because the tread on them are great. Which would you recommend?

Basically all leather docs I've seen would be great in snow. And not to mention mine have survived 30 years without a stitch missing

If you're looking for something sturdy, docs are the way to go.

I have had my Doc Martens for almost 5 years, I mainly use them in the winter. It gets pretty cold and snowy here in Norway, less than minus 20 degrees, and they keep me warm (though, you should probably wear some thicker socks).
It's this pair, they look pretty good after 5 years in snow and water:

docs aren't winter boots. you have to clean them all the time from salt and the treads are not good for snow- they tend to get packed snow in them very easily and then its like having no tread, they don't work well on ice either. they're pretty good when there isn't much snow but I don't wear mine when theres 4 feet of snow.
but they do take wear pretty well and if you put winter insoles in them and have on warm socks your feet will feel pretty nice.

I really recommend the 1B60 20 eye docs.
Most people have the shorter ones, but the high ones are a lot cooler, it you ask me. ;)
They might look a bit agressive or punk-like, but if you combine them right, they go with almost any look.

I just bought Doc Martens Serena in brown. They have faux fur inside, and they feel pretty warm, but I haven't worn them yet.

Just bought a pair at my local Salvation Army for 8$, pretty much new condition. Looks like I'll find out how they fare during the winter as well, but for right now they're pretty comfortable.

I have two pairs of Doc Martens and they really make winter boots. I mean, I live in Switzerland and there's much snow here too. :)

I bought a pair of Docs and I was so excited about them but they look crap on me. I look so butch and that's just not me at all.
I think they look best on really long, slim legs- otherwise they make the wearer look dumpy.

I've worn Doc in the snow and they were great. Just make sure to wear wool socks with them.

Docs are okay, but "Grinders" are the same look and much better quality.

I own my Docs since I am fourteen, so 4 years. And I only wear them when he weather is shitty, so when it rains cats and dogs or when it's muddy or very very snowy. I own the "navy blue" ones and they stiill look great (just that the leather is not so stiff anymore) and I think they will stay like this for years again.
The soles are very thick so if you take warm socks, docs will be a good choice for you. I even took them when I went skiing last year, and my feet were never cold.

I don't know anything about really bad winter weather, when it is freezing cold and it snows, but I wear my Doc Martens when it rains and you can literally step into the puddles without getting your feet wet. But you will need to wear thick socks, cause they are not the warmest boots I've ever tried.

My docs are 2 years old and they are great in snow! With a pair of woollen socks, they can resist almost everything.
It's a good investment: :)

I love my docs to death, they keep you dry and are almost indestructible. The only bad thing is that on snow or snow slush it can get REALLY slippery with them. But might just be my awesome talent of getting in embarassing situations (like sitting in the snow :P).
Anyway, as I mentioned: I love them. Do it. Buy them.
