I hate my Northern Irish accent, although I live in a rural area so our accents are really broad and manly! If that's possible, haha. I love a Bristolian accent, or Australian, or Welsh. :)

@Rachel F.

This is exactly what I was going to say, thank you! I'm from Canada, and while I'm definitely aware that Britain has many different regional accents, there are only a few that I can distinguish right away (like scottish, welsh, scouse, manc...). In reality they are all very similar to my ear, and as a whole they are very different from the Canadian and American accents I hear all the time. So I have said "I like British accents" before, and I think what I, and many others who say this mean that we like british accents as a whole, whether they be from the north, the south, RP, whatever. They all sound quite similar to us. What would you expect? We're not from Britain.

That being said, I LOVE Irish accents (and maybe there is regional variation in this too! no offence to any Irish people...)

At the moment I have an eastern Canadian accent. Not bad I guess :P

People moaning about English accents, doesn't matter. All that matters is the English accent gets foreign girls weak and the knees and their juices flowing. FACT.

Oh yes, I met a girl once a long time ago that would just talk French and then back to English and French again. It would drive me wild out of sheer curiosity of what she was saying but also the way she gestured certain words, not to mention she had the cutest little Audrey Tantou smile.

I wouldn't swap my accent for any other accent because that would be silly, my accent is part of who I am.

I miss my (Southern) British accent and wish I could have it back.. I lost it when I moved to South Africa. I hate South African accents, they sound so lame =/

Ok, will everyone stop saying British? There's no such thing as a British accent! Great Britain comprises the countries England, Scotland and Wales (as well some small outlying islands), each of which have a number of regional accents. So please, if you like an accent from Britain, identify which country it is from! Rant over.

I can do an ugly imitation of the British accent. Due to excessive watching of Harry Potter. I can also do a lame version of the Brooklyn accent. The *Yo dawg* thingy. I sometimes mix both and they sound funny. Right now I can speak flaaaat english with no accent. Dang.

I'm Bitish (Yorkshire to be exact - but not farmer-ish) , but I'd love to go back to my roots and have not a strong, but a simple Geordie/North East accent.. :)
