Can anyone help me? I want to take great pictures for my blog, but I'm not that obsessed to where I'll pay for a DSLR.

If ur not a big fan.of dslr and still.prefer a compact or point and shoot cam, I suggest to buy Canon Powershot series. Before I was using the 12mp and it take decent shot .

Just like rayn said, canon powershots are great ! I have the g11, and you can setup everything, MF and stuff, it's quite clever plus really good looking..
But of course, no camera will give you as good short depth of field as a dslr ..
By the way i used to have an panasonic FZ like katie and it wasn't a great camera, i wouldn't recommend it.

I'd recommend the Panasonic LUMIX fz100 to you. I ordered it a few days ago and now it's here and it's wonderful. Really. It takes photos exactly like photos made by a DSLR, just that it is, in fact, a bridgecamera. If you want to see some photos just google it. If you want to make sure the photos are not faked - visit my blog and look and the second photo from above. there you can see the quality very clear. :)

Please, on this picture: lookbook.nu/look/2862101-Run-With-The-Wolves it's clear that you added the blur yourself with photoshop.
Your FZ100 is better than the one i used to have (FZ28 i guess), because it has a moving screen and a wheel (mine had a pad which was awful to use !), but still, for approx the same price, I'd really recommend to take a canon g12, it's smaller and more clever, all the settings are on wheels, you don't have to got through any menus, and, important for the image quality, the sensor is bigger.

Easy.
This is why I said, the pictures ON MY BLOG. I own my camera since 2 days so all the photos here on lookbook are NOT taken with this camera ;)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. But still, after being an owner of both cameras I'd go for the canon one

Dslr cameras are actually also digital. but ive got a point and shoot sx1 IS and the image quality is almost as good. the depth of field on a point and shoot however, will not compare to that of a dslr lens.
