I agree. I'm naturally pretty skinny but I really don't think weight is important. I don't diet, I eat as much as I want and don't worry about how much fat, or carbs, or calories, or sugar or anything is in it! I think it is a lot healthier to be 20 pounds overweight than 20 pounds underweight. I have a lot of friends who hate their bodies and it makes me sad because they are beautiful girls and they're so hard on themselves, & they weigh less than me!

Those who say about others that they are too skinny probably should loose a pound or two themselves.

I honestly don't think it matters whether you are thin or fat. What is so attractive about limbs in the first place? As long as your comfortable within yourself, who cares?

I thin kskinny girls are pretty, but if you're a girl who is naturally "big boned" then i don't think you just go out and go on a ton of diets to be skinny. Whether people are skinny or not, i think they should just focusing on eating healthy and be happy with their figure, big or small. some people are naturally skinny and some are naturally bigger, either way, we are all beautiful no matter the size....And your right! girls go on too many diets trying to be the same figure....it's quite sad..

That's awful to say!

There IS a point when people are too skinny and it becomes a matter of health rather than a matter of appearance. I don't think your size should really matter as long as you're healthy. For some healthy might be being a bit bigger than average and for others it might be being bit smaller than average.

At the end of the day, it's our own choice. If we think skinny is beautiful, and strive to attain it, we choose to do it. I hate how easily people point the finger at the media, laying the blame solely on images in magazines and all that - the magazine isn't forcing you not to eat anything, we control our actions ourselves.
If someone wants to be thin, let them. If it's not important to you, that's fine too. Besides, it's so much more interesting having a whole range of sizes out there. It would be awful boring if we were all the same size.

If you want to lose a pound, go for it, but don't talk about other people... I personally don't think it matters if someone else is skinny. Be who you want to be and you'll be happy. (And this is coming from a medium sized person, not exactly a "skeleton".)

oh i love me a good skeleton tatted man!

heroin chique can be hot, but no one should ever force themselves into a look like that. if you're naturally thin then embrace it + screw whoever gives you crap about being thin. it's really sad to see people develop disorders to fit a mold, but it's also really sad to see naturally thin girls be bullied for something they can't control. some people just don't put on weight due to certain medical reasons, etc.

I think that it should be people's own choice whether they want to be skinny or not - but it has to be said that lookbook is influencing people in a negative way. Lookbook does mostly reflect the pretty, skinny people, which is far from the truth. I myself am sometimes shocked by extremely emaciated looking girls getting comments like "you have the perfect body". Sorry, but sick is not, will not, simply CAN not be beautiful. It is not natural, it is a crime against nature.
Nothing against people that have a fast metabolism - but you see a lot of people here where the eating disorder literally jumps into your eye, saying, "look at me i'm walking anorexia and i like it".
I have to admit that it scares me.

Plus, it is considered insulting to call overweight people "fat" while many just dont see that calling a skinny person "a skull" is offensive just in in the same way!

I've never tried to be skinnier. I just have a fast metabolism. I eat so much junk food and I hardly exercise. The way I see it, weight isn't an issue as long as you're healthy =]

so true. i think it's ok to be skinny or what ever size u are as long as you're healthy and happy with yourself. and it's shocking that anorexic girls still get comments that encourage their illness even more. of course people who don't have that kind of problems will not understand the harm they are making by complimenting others sick bodies but i wish that this will change at some point. :/ lookbook still, sadly, isn't a right place for someone with eating disorder. sad but true. and i speak from my own experience.

and please, girls and boys, try not to think that it matters what size you are. people are beutiful when they are truly happy and living their life with full joy!

definitely a very sensitive subject but i have some friends who have a hard time gaining weight and are naturally skinny as well as bigger people who are naturally big. Sure skinny people can get bigger and bigger people can get smaller but I think that people should be happy with themselves in general. I don't like seeing when people are so unhappy with themselves and feel they should be skinnier or bigger to fit into what people accept just love and accept who you are !

I just went here to correct your title, because I think it's supposed to be skeleton.
And it's pretty rude to say that skinny people aren't attractive or beautiful. Some people can't help being skinny or fat.
Calling a skinny person ugly is just like calling a fat person ugly, too. I honestly think some of us wouldn't want to be our weight now, but we can't control it
It's better to keep your mouth shut if you're just going to hurt some people here

i used to "look like a skull", and not out of choice. So yeh, that is pretty rude -_-

I find it so funny how some people are such fucking shallow assholes. I used to be very skinny even though i eat like a pig, and people used to pick on me for it (directly and indirectly). Now im a size that i love, and those same people call me fat.
Can everyone STFU about skinny people and fat people?? Does it really matter???

I took what she said to mean that it's fine as long as you're healthy, and not one extreme or the other that is detrimental to ones own health.

A lot of people draw conclusions simply from what they see visually, being naturally skinny is fine as long as health-wise you're fine, i.e not fatigued/lethargic etc, and likewise being more larger, as long as you're within healthy parameters and your health isn't being placed at risk it's ok.

As long as you're not frail, weak and skeletal and meanwhile not a breathless blob, as long as you feel good and you're not suffering any health issues then visually between being curvy and thin, that is of little importance, as long as its not outside the borders of those two and thus being one extreme or the other, overweight / dangerously underweight.

Yes I understand that's that what you gleaned from her comments. Read my reply to her if you want to know why I said she contradicted herself. Anyway, with regards to this 'it's fine as long as you're healthy' business, who are you two to say what is and isn't 'fine'? It seems there's been a recent influx of people on lookbook who think they're in a position to judge people who they don't even know and tell them how to live their lives. The day we learn to leave people the fuck alone (as long as they're not hurting other people) and let them get on with their lives, the world will be a better place.

Being healthy as in not having health problems or eating disorders.. It really isn't necessary to break me down for stating my opinion, considering your reply to Levi Philip K, where you said "The day we learn to leave people the fuck alone the world will be a better place" you are the one who doesn't practice what they preach, but anyway..

I'm sorry but you can't say being healthy and eating loads of junk food/doing no exercise go hand in hand. Accept your mistake. And I think you know that the little quote you lifted from my reply was refering to people who spend their days bitching on the internet and bashing people whose lifestyles aren't in accordance with their own personal beliefs. I am not one of those people.

I don't think what the OP said is offensive...

He's not saying "Ew skinny people are gross!"...He's asking why girls go out of their way to look unhealthy. Skinny girls, no one is hating on you (well, I'm not) and I understand that people can just be naturally thin (my sister is super skinny and can't help it). Of course everyone is gonna get all butthurt about his wording, but the fact stands...this site has a SERIOUS issue with weight. If I had a dime for every time I've read a comment made by some girl complaining that she was fat, when in reality, she needed to gain weight, I'd have a lot of dimes. Haha.

And I'm not for that "Everyone's beautiful" bullshit because let's be honest, it's simply not true. People need to learn to be honest and realistic with themselves and others. Some people are fat, some people are skinny, some people are ugly and some people are beautiful. It's a part of life, get over it.

How we look shouldn't define us, but if we keep on with these god damn threads, and keep thinking the way we do, we'll never get the chance to evolve past all the shallow bullshit.

Yeah, I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to agree with Helen on this one. Being healthy isn't just the absence of illness. Being healthy is about treating your body right and preventing it from ever being in such a state that you are susceptible to illness.

Just because I'm not a fitness junkie and like to enjoy food does not mean I am unhealthy. There's nothing wrong with eating junk food if you balance it out right with healthy food. And I don't exercise because of a childhood injury which prevents me from being able to do any sort of exercise or sport which involves running or having to move my ankle. I do archery, which is pretty much the only exercise I can do
