I'm sooooooo excited.. I started reading the first book and just couldn't stop! I read in the bus, in the train, during the breaks, during classes...
I hope so so much that they don't mess this up but I think Jennifer Lawrence was a perfect choice for playing Katniss. She's a really talented actress.
Together with "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Hobbit" it's one of my movie highlights this year.

I am so excited! The trailer looks really good as well, as does the casting.

I'm a little unsure of this one. I liked Battle Royale and I feel like this is just a cheap westernised version of it - sans the over violence.

I've only heard about this film recently but it does look good and I'm really looking forward to it coming out, I had no idea it was a book first.

YES! finished all the books and is definitely one of my favorites. Based on the trailers, not much has changed in the movie adaptation so that's a good sign! :)
But i hope that it doesn't get overrated just like what happened in recent book to movie franchises.

I'm dreading its release. I'm so scared I haven't watched any trailers. When I read the books, it was very visual, and played like a film in my imagination, and I'm not sure whether I want someone else's interpretations of what everything looks like and talks like forced upon me.

I've never heard of this film/books until now, but after a quick Google it sounds something like 'Battle Royale' meets the 'Fallout' universe.
Since it's classified as young adult fiction, I may have liked it 7 years ago but I'm not sure I could read something like that now. Perhaps I'll see the film!

I'm so excited for it, I've read all three books and am looking forward to seeing how they portray it compared to how i saw it when i read it. :)

I'm neutral towards it. I LOVE Battle Royale and I wish there were more movies like it. I love the entire idea of having a bunch of people put in a remote area to kill until there is only one left standing.
But the Hunger Games just seems like a toned down, less violent, kids version.
I'll still watch it, but I have no desire to read the book.

I am very excited but also worried that it will not be as good as the books! Like most of films based on novels, it might not reach our high expectations. I have a distinct visual in my mind of the storyline and I hope that the film will be at least somewhat close to that. Though I know I am asking too much...

I'm so excited, since i'm addicted to the book. It premiered on the 22 March in my country but sadly, they ran out of tickets, so I have to wait for another day. Can't wait for it!

Midnight showing tonight, hellz yes!
I will be channeling some serious Capitol Couture, Effie Trinket style.
I'm excited to see all the Capitol's fashions and style along with Cinna's stylist team, Venia, Flavius, and Octavia because honestly the whole makeover and interviews were my favorite part of the books.

Saw it last night. So so good!! Some parts were totally gripping. Like literally. My boyfriend had to tell me I was squashing his fingers at one point.
Capitols fashions were out of this world! It must have been so much fun to be a costume designer on that movie. Didn't see much of the style team apart from Cinna which I was disappointed with. I loved that trio. They were so cute and ditzy.
Really really top notch film! I want to go see it again!!

flat storyline. weak chemistry. no thrill at all. it would probably be a good movie if i'd watched it 10 years ago when i was 9. no offense tho, personal opinion & taste.

I enjoyed it but I wasn't super impressed. They left a lot of important things out; not necessarily plot points, but feelings of the story. For instance, when Katniss and Peeta are in the cave, there is no feeling at all! It just seemed so empty. But like I said, it was entertaining.

I saw it and I'm glad I didn't read the book first because mostly I'm unimpressed and let down by film adaptations of great books. But I really liked it and I'm going to read the book now, I'm sure it will be even more amazing than the film!

I did go see it but I still feel like it's a childish version of Battle Royale. I would have much preferred it if they made it a 15 or 18 and put some more gory scenes in it. The camera work was a bit shoddy too!

I really liked the movie. I have read all the three books, but somehow, the details that they didn't include in the movie(unlike with f.ex. Harry Potter). I didn't watch the movie looking for every single thing that happened in the book, I just wanted to enjoy it.
I think having read the book helped understanding the movie, since you then knew what Katniss was thinking and stuff like that.
I think the cast was great, too.. All in all, a really pleasant film-experience.
