When you're short on money, where are the great deals? Where are those places that you can just fill your wardrobe without hurting your financial situation??

GOODWILL of courseee! Every single post of mine features a goodwill item, and you wouldn't believe the amazing things I've found there for like 3 dollars to 6 dollars ... the most expensive thing I ever got was 15 dollars and it was a fully hand beaded flapper dress from the 30's ... amazing!!!

Thrift stores! Thrift stores are becoming a great place to shop, whether you have a small budget or not. :)

Etsy. I purchase a LOT from there. I just bought two gorgeous handcrafted chiffon dresses (soon to be shot for LB) for $34 each. Another good place is trunktrends.com/#!store
I like to shop around the local boutiques and wait for the items I want to go on sale. I do that or build a relationship with boutique owner and work out deals with them. Also, If you have a tax number, you can visit your local WORLD TRADE CENTER (Each large city should have one) and attend their apparel Market every quarter. I do that often and get most of my jewelry at wholesale.

Thrift stores are the best. They're better for the environment, less expensive than buying things new, and you can usually find items much nicer than you could get at cheap retail stores like Forever 21. Plus it's fun, like a treasure hunt.

There's a lot of unbranded store in my country, and the quality isn't so bad. I can get a dress with only $10.

I always go to goodwill for tops. They always have some good sweaters and blouses, and they're all $3-4. For other things, I go to ASOS and look at the sale section. I always look at the sales first.

Haha I have the same problem! I mostly buy my clothes on markets and free shops. Also Primark can be really ugly, but sometimes I find cool stuff. Quality is bad though. Most of my fashiobuys are vintage. I have an amazing Norwegian Cardigain (100% wool) for only 30$. Basketball sweatshirts for 18$ and so on! I have a pic of the cardigain in my profile

Agree, I have a ton of clothing from Charlotte Russe. A lot of stuff they have is tacky, but you can find some great finds there, especially shoes

Practcally my whole wardrobe comes from there.

H&M, Necessary Clothing, and Brandy Melville -- Forever 21 is kinda cheesy so I'd stray away from there
Also, E-Bay! I sell a lot of my old clothing on there and people get great deals. I've also browsed and found Theory shirts for $10, 7 for all mankind jeans for $25, and even a Marc Jacobs 2 piece suit for $50!

Ebay, thrift store, goodwill, salvation army, hand me down, second hand store like buffalo exchange, swap meet, and some stores have sample sales and you can get great deals on name brand. I got a $200 jean for only $30 from paige jeans and $15 for j brands jean. You just have to work harder to find all these great deals.

I love me some vintage/thrift shops but I'm a big fan of hitting up the regular high street shops for their best sales. I usually wishlist a bunch of things I like and wait until they go on sale or I get a coupon code before I make a purchase.

I find a lot of great deals at Target, Forever 21, and places like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's, etc. You would be surprised what you can find on clearance, even at more expensive stores that carry clothes that you would think would be out of your price range. Always check the sale items!

As a graduating student I have really no time for a job so I could say "I am poor",too. Therefore I shop at H&M, Primark, unbranded shops (I am sure there are some around your place maybe at the mall or so?). Also I totally agree with the thrift stores, it's liek vintage shopping only that the clothes aren't designer treasures but who knows which beautiful story could hide behind a piece you find! Pure joy :)
Also H&M basics + cloth colour or a few shredding/sewing skills = unique fashionable piece which can arouse a lot of great admiring feedback from your friends.
I mostly shop at Sales but it is important to keep upcoming seasons in mind. Nothing too crazy which will probebaly not be trendy next year anymore.
I hope I could help you, hun :)

Goodwill, secondhand shops, and also clothing swaps! Check out swapaholics.com. Check their event pages often-- you might find something around your area! I know they have lots of stuff in D.C., which isn't far from where you live. And DIY, of course!
