I am working with a music archive/ museum in Rio de Janeiro- brazilworldmusicmuseum.com
We are looking for a person to buy African and Arabic recordings on vinyl- music as well as general sound/audio recordings. (While the primary focus is vinyl, we are buying local CD’s also.)
We are also looking for individuals who may be selling their personal vinyl collections.
We are looking for as many vinyl albums of African and Arabic music as we can find from any country on the African continent. Our goal is to attain up to 10,000 vinyl albums over a year or two.
We will buy record collections from collectors or music fans in Africa and will pay a fee to the person we hire for each album they buy for us. We will also pay to ship the albums back to the museum. The albums must be in good condition - both covers and playing surface.
We pay well so only very responsible and trustworthy English speaking people raised in Africa are sought/ if you have good connections to people who may have record collections to sell.
Looking for immediate work- please contact via email as soon as possible if interested!

Thanks!

I'm not from Africa, but this is fucking cool, good luck with it!
And I would never ever sell my vinyl collection.

Also, its somewhat similar to the Sublime Frequencies label started by the Bishop brothers(from the Sun City Girls) which mostly consists of different field recordings done in different countries...some of it is pretty cool.
