For a while I've been considering whether to start a fashion blog.
I've got a camera. (Though not enough time or daylight to shoot in.) I'm sh!t at photography. I'm not afraid of layouting or writing. I could get busy IRL but I could store up a backlog and trickle posts out periodically. I know nothing about fashion except what I wear myself and what people wear on the streets, shops and LB.
If I did make the blog I'd call it 'The Undercover Dress-up Lover' but it's veeeeeeery long. Suggestions?
TL;DR
FASHION BLOGGING.
Shall I? Why? Under what conditions?
Edit: Thank you, people. I decided to give it a shot, sticking with my original name Undercover Dress-Up Lover, and am so far enjoying it.

Uhm... I'd say... If you think you'd enjoy having a blog, go for it. I do have a blog, and it's basically about, well, nothing. About me. About my life. I post when I have the time for it. I post photos if I have some. And yeah.. I like it.
You don't have to take this all too seriously, I think. I mean, a blog is fun! It's funny to see how you change as the time goes by. So if you have some spare time, why not?
And if you haven't - no problem, don't blog. :D

Just go for it, if you enjoy it. I just started my own fashion blog and I love it but it is really hard to see that there are no new visitors or followers :-(
I am afraid I cannot help you with that, but I wish you best of luck!

Hey! I think its definitely woth starting a blog!
I started mine about 6 months ago and it's fairly popular (what-now.net) so i have a lot of tips to help you get started:
1: Blog about what YOU like, not what you think other people will like, because people can tell what's genuine and what's not
2: try and strike a balance between quality and quantity, posting often is good but if the posts are bad quality (badly written / bad pics) you will put people off following
3. in regards to photography, you dont need a good quality camera to have a good blog! any digital camera will do, and if you find that you like blogging, maybe at a later stage you can invest in a better quality camera
4. you dont have to be a good photographer either! (god knows i'm terrible) but you should make sure to take well-lit, clear photographs - either in pretty places or with a plain background, this makes the outfit stand out as much as possible.
5. you don't just have to stick to outfit posts either, you can blog about people that inspire you, other bloggers, trends etc. anything you want!
6. I think you're right about that being a long title, you prefereably need something short and snappy that people will remember (my blog name came from me not being able to think of anything but i had to put something there in order to create my blog in the first place - i was going to go back and change it but it just stuck!) I think 2 - 4 words long is a better length
7. in regards to getting followers, it can be a bit depressing at first. I find that commenting on other people's blogs is the best way to gain followers as they often return comments and follow you if they like what they see. I also recently ran a giveaway which got me loads of followers!
8. take inspiration from other blogs but try not to copy too much as people will know you are copying and it might put them off.
Good luck sweetie - i hope you do end up setting one up because it can be great fun!

Hey thanks for the advice! I only have fourteen followers and I have been wondering if I should continue blogging. Although I do enjoy it greatly.
Also I totally agree with writing about whatever! I started my blog with fashion and slowly I have expanded my subjects and started writing more about my life rather than just fashion. So write about what interests you!

I think you should definitely try. It doesn't cost a thing so start and if enjoy it go on if not you can easily quit.
About the name: I like the "undercover"-part but it is indeed a bit long...play with fashion related words and "undercover" maybe you'll find an easy memorizable title :D

If you feel like it, give it a try. You can always close the blog if you realize it is not your thing or simply get tired of blogging.
I feel the tricky thing about blogs is that they can get very demanding or frustrating when you take them too seriously...

I have a terrible habit of overthinking things and taking them too seriously, but I will try not to. Thank you!
