Well I'm 5'1'' exactly, and I love my clothes.

Of course height is a big factor in the fashion industry, but fuck that.

Height has got absolutely nothing to do with it. Not on the high street anyway. I'm 5"1 too and I manage just fine.

Hell, I'm 5"9 and struggle to buy trousers, skirts and dresses of a decent length. I honestly think it'd be easier to dress if I were a good few inches shorter.

I'm 5'10" and I usually feel like a giraffe around my friends. I don't think being as tall as I am is elegant at all. I think shorter people look rather cute, so you should tell your friend to love her length !

I'm 5'2" and I constantly wish I were taller. It doesn't affect what I wear that much but there are some things I'm uncomfortable wearing as I feel as if I'm drowning in all the material since I'm rather short.

I am a 5'4 and I do feel that I am too small. I think my legs are way too short to look thin or even slim. That sucks. The taller you are, the more your body is comparable to one of a model...

I'm 5'4 too and I've never felt too short for something. In fact, I'm often glad that I'm a little shorter as I can wear short skirts to work without flashing the kids!

It's my figure that stops me buying certain clothes. I think "my chest is too big" or "my thighs are too large for this" but never "I'm too short to wear that".

obviously some don't have runway height, but that shouldn't stop her from loving fashion or clothes! I'm sure she can rock whatever she wants to wear :)

I am 5' 3"; it definitely can be frustrating because I feel like a lot of fashion is designed with tall models in mind. Sometimes it's difficult to translate a certain fashion into something that looks good on me with my shorter torso and legs (which also to my frustration are naturally stockier than a tall person's). But as others have mentioned, being petite can also be a huge asset, and there are some styles that may actually work better for us. Being short is no reason not to dress with style if you enjoy it!

We all tend to be jealous of other people's body types, and I think there's a reason for that — everyone is beautiful in their own way; we just can't usually see our own beauty.

a person can look stylish at any height. there are some things that look better on taller people but there are also things that are more suited for petites. mostly it's all about proportions. maybe you could ask your friend to actually try things out before judging it unsuitable for her height. also, heels help a lot.

Your friend might feel that way because models are almost always quite tall. However, most people don't have model bodies, so there's no reason a short girl can't dress well. I'm only 5' 3", so I understand that it's difficult to find pants that are a good length, but there are options, if you look for them. Please encourage your friend to be bold, and pursue her passion for dressing with style. No reason not to! XO.

I am between 5'4" and 5'5" and sometimes I feel so tiny. But I don't think that being short or tall matters that much when it comes to style. The most important thing is that you should choose clothes that are suitable for your figure. And, yes, a pair of trousers can't look the same good way both on 5'1" and 5'10" girl.

I am 5'8, my legs are way to long for the rest of my body so I find it hard as well to buy great clothes. Specially pants are awefull to find! So actually I think it's for almost everyone hard to find the right clothes.

Height does effect some clothes, but not all - and it certainly shouldnt stop anyone from enjoying fashion! I run into problems with some of my pants and nicer dresses - often I have to cuff my pants since they bunch at the ankles, or have my shoulder straps taken up on certain dresses because my shoulders are small, and the garment falls too low. I am 5'3" and doing just fine :)

I am 5' 4" and sometimes I feel that I cannot find clothes that are small enough for me, it can be really hard to find the right items, but it's not impossible :) I think I can wear any types of clothes I just have to find the shops that make the smallest ones.

Well, I'm 5'10, and I can tell you it is hell to find long enough pants, dresses, and skirts! Plus it's way cuter to wear platforms when you're smaller. I have a pair of platform sandals, they make me 6'3! It would be nice to be a tad shorter...

man.. I am 5'0, I think the shortest person who has posted so far. Yeah, it sucks sometimes... and I have to get so many things altered to be shorter, but other than that, it's fine.

5'8 I think im a perfect height for clothes really. My issue is with dresses. Cuz i have a big bum and long legs, if the dress is somewhat short, it looks even shorter on me which then makes me look slutty.
