I'm unlucky enough to fall victim to a seasonal breakout, due to the constant change in the air over here. Drives my skin nuts!

I used to get the occasional hormonal one as a teenager & I found this really works (I wish I had known when I was younger!);
For a spot that has come up try a cream with Benzoyl peroxide in it, it should heal up overnight. As a preventative keep your skin moisturized & balanced but not clogged with a light oil like rosehip - sounds a little crazy to use an oil but it works.
I hope this helps :)

Keep your hands clean, and touch your face as least as possible. Also keep your face clean and wash it thoroughly. Those are key elements to beating breakouts.

Drink lots of water, keep yourself hydrated!! No soda!! (The worst). Greasy food is not good either.

Do you tone? I found that helped a lot when I started.. and I agree try to stop touching your face if you do... water, water, water and a balanced diet :)

Trial and error. You have to find products that work for your skin. I've had mild to moderate acne for the past eight years. I recently started using Arbonne Clear Advantage system, and after a horrible transition period (I think my skin was detoxing from a stint with Proactiv) my acne is 80% gone.
