I follow fyeahtattoos on Tumblr. I don't have any tattoos (and I'm not even sure if I want any yet!), but seeing what other people have gotten has been good inspiration! Some are better than others, but for me it's always fun to just admire the art other people have had tattooed on them. Maybe looking at some blogs like that will help you?

I've had my first for a year and a few months now. I don't have any more yet, but I've been designing several more for my future.

I get most of my ideas just from things I love. For example, I am currently designing a tattoo I've been wanting for ages, small and on my wrist, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Ever since I visited Taliesin West in AZ, I fell in love with his art, especially the window designs. However, in general it also strands for my love and recent involvement in interior design. I have worked with an interior designer these past two summers, and have had a great experience. Not to mention I love antiques, home goods, and making a place look creative.

I have many more ideas, but that's just an example of how I develop one.:)

I don't have any tattoos yet, since the good places don't usually do tattoos on ppl under 18. But I am planning on taking some, and I've been designing a few ones I really like.

I get inspired by life in general, and I think it's important that the tattoo actually stands for something and it isn't something that you just think looks good atm. Tattoos with meanings are probably the ones you'll never regret.. :)

When you are stuck, just look at other peoples art, it may trigger something, you may like the color or maybe the content, just don't steal their work, make it your own :)

I'm still planning to get 'Infragilis et Tenera' on my upperarm.
But 'Et ducit mundum per luce' is also a sentence I would love to have tattooed on my body. Just because I love it and it has a personal meaning for me.

On my right arm i have a quote that says "Life is under no obligation to give us what we expect". At first i was going to get a quote from one of my favorite books but then i had a friend who had died in a car accident along with 3 other people. He was only 19. I completely re thought my whole tattoo and then it open my eyes as to how quickly things can change so i wanted something about life because people take it for granted.
Second, on my left arm i have a feather for my mom. Originally i was going to get a whole dream catcher because when i was younger my mom always tried to get rid of my bad dreams for me because i would be terrified to sleep. I ended up only getting a feather from the dream catcher because i didn't want the size of the dream catcher.

i eventually would like a tattoo, but alot of people just try and get something popular or something they think is so deep and cool that they have to get a tattoo of it. i dont plan on getting mines for a while, im still confused on what i want. my only advice is to not think about it too hard, sometimes the inspiration will just appear, when it does, dont let it go away. if your an artist or if you like artistic things i know you understand:] good luck<3
